Rivers APC Women Leader Calls On IGP To Arrest SP Salihu Masalachi, Three Other Officers For Aiding Pdp Thugs

The Women Leader, All Progressives Congress (APC), Rivers State chapter has called on the Inspector General of Police(IGP) to immediately order arrest Police Officers that aided Peoples Democratic Party thugs that attacked Tonye Cole, APC candidate in the March 18 Rivers governorship election.

In a press release signed by the Media Directo, office of the Women Leader, APC Rivers State. Miss Eberechi Wordumati, the following police officers, SP Emmanuel Ifeanyi, OC, Anti Kidnapping, SP Salihu Masalachi O/C C4i’, CSP Ibrahim Mohammed 0/C Anti Cultism unit, CSP London, Camp Commandant, Rivers State Government House, for aiding armed thugs that attacked Arch Pastor Tonye on Monday 3rd April,2023.

The release read: I want to use this medium to condemn totally the unwarranted and senseless attack on the Governorship Candidate of APC in Rivers State,Arch Pastor Tonye Cole as he was walking down to the INEC office with his Deputy, Dr Innocent Barikore, State party Chairman Chief Emeka Beke and other party leaders on the Aba road, Port Harcourt to get certified valued documents to enable APC file their matter at the Elections Petition Tribunal and the attack on APC secretariat in Woji road by thugs of PDP in Rivers State who were given cover by the police”

“The attack on Pastor Tonye Cole which left him with various degrees of injuries and literally pulling down of the APC flags in it’s secretariat, are both criminal offence and attempted murder”

“On behalf of the Women of APC in Rivers State, I am using this medium to say that this particular action will end impunity and lawlessness in Rivers State, even as I call on Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to release all necessary documents that are needed for filling of our matter in the Elections Petition Tribunal (EPT).

She further said, “What is happening in Rivers State is a rape of democracy, judicial ambush, unprofessionalism by the Nigeria police.These reckless open show of madness are obviously an invitation to anarchy and a force on citizens to resort to self defense and help”.
