Kevin Durant rules himself out for rest of NBA season
Kevin Durant, a popular NBA star has refused to play basketball since he tore his Achilles tendon last year.
Durant said he would not make his debut yet with the Brooklyn Nets even if the season resumes towards the end of July in Orlando. He said: “My season is over. And I don’t plan on playing at all.” The basketball season of 2019-2020, Kevin said in an interview that “We decided last summer when it first happened that I was just going to wait until the following season. I had no plans of playing at all this season.”
Though the NBA just like every other sport suspended its season on the 11th of March, 2020 because of the COVID-19 (C19) pandemic, which left all professional sports in North America at a standstill. Meanwhile on Thursday, the League’s Board of Governors gave the green light to a plan of restarting the season at Disney World in Orlando, Florida on the 31st of July, 2020, without fans and spectators.

Durant joined Brooklyn when he left California, where fans hoped he would form a formidable force with his former teammate Kyrie Irving, who also arrived last summer.
He further said: “It is just best for Me to wait. I don’t think I’m ready to play that type of intensity right now in the next month.
However, Durant said that his rehab is going well. “I’m doing well. Working every day. I’m moving. I’m feeling like a normal player again,” this he said.
Meanwhile, the league’s restart received the approval of players through the players’ union on Friday. Though some details will be ironed out.
Durant, who is among a dozen NBA players who tested positive for coronavirus in the spring has not said whether he will accompany his teammates to Florida.
