1,000 indigenes benefit from NYSC free medical treatment in Niger

Over 1,000 residents of Maikusidi community in Wushishi Local Government Area of Niger State, has benefited from a free medical outreach offered by members of the National Youth Service Corps in collaboration with Late Alhaji Muhammad Makusidi Global Foundation.

The National Youth Service Corps Coordinator in Niger state, Funmilayo Ajayi, told reporters that the outreach was part of the NYSC quarterly initiative tagged Health Initiative for Rural Dwellers (HIRD). “We are here with our medical team to reach out to the community with treatment and giving out drugs to those who do not have access to qualitative health care services,’’ she said.
The Niger state Commissioner of Health, Dr. Mohammed Makusidi, who graced the event lauded the NYSC for the initiative, adding that cases of severe medical issues would be referred to the General Hospital in Wushishi and Minna General Hospital for free treatment.
