A Drug Ridding Society
The illegal and abusive use of drugs in society is a thing of concern for not just Nigeria but in every part of the world.
This consistent rise in the abuse and illegal use of drugs has been for decades now, and this is an uncontrollable emergence that has sparked speculations and debates across the world.
But despite all attempts by world governments the menace still seems to be on an increase every day. United Nations and the World Health Organization has expressed concerns that the abuse and illegal use of drugs poses a threat to the society as the continuous abuse of drugs will lead to a mentally unfit society.
Though abuse and the illegal use of these drugs is not just found amongst teenagers and youths, but is a worrisome plague that is being practiced by even adults. Maybe, the society is yet to realize that the abuse and illegal use of these drugs has its negative impact on the psychological wellbeing of the users.
While the reasons behind the use of this drugs are said to be as a result of health complications, they become addicted to the drugs and finds it difficult to discontinue using it and some people are trying to escape from their daily realities, by using this drugs and some uses it for other reasons.
But whatever the case may be, the abuse and illegal use of drugs is not good though besides being against the law, it is also not good for the mental wellbeing of the user. It is very much disheartening to see that more teenagers and youths are opting more into the use of narcotics as a means of highness and for other reasons.
Drugs are now in every street in society, it is now available and easily accessed by anyone and everyone who wants to use it for different purposes. The federal government has been trying tirelessly to put an end to this menace but the more they try the harder it gets for them to achieve their goal.
So, the best way the government can deal with this issue is to set up a policy that allows only persons with certified prescriptions get the medicine they need and the selling of drugs in baskets and on our streets should be banned or done by certified sellers who acquires their certification from the federal government and anyone caught selling such drugs should be highly penalized.
