Troops Raid Boko Haram Camp, Rescue 7 Kidnap Victims abandoned in Chains
Troop of the Nigerian Army from the 25 Brigade Damboa, in conjunction with the vigilante group, rescued kidnapped victims in a raid conducted on suspected Boko Haram locations in Kanama Damboa LGA and Imimi at Bulabulin Konduga LGA in Borno.
Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the operation took place on 18 July 2024 following intelligence on the activities of the terrorists within the general area.
The sources said that team “A” of the troops discovered a large Boko Haram camp at Imimi Bulabulin, overpowered the terrorists, eliminated one of them while others escaped. The troops also destroyed the camp while Items recovered include 11 bicycles, 2 AK 47 magazines, and various other materials.
Meanwhile, Team ‘B’ encountered seven abandoned kidnap victims in chains at the outskirts of an insurgents camp in Kanama Village.
The victims, all Fulani herdsmen, claimed they were robbed of their cattle and abducted at various times and locations. The troops rescued the victims and brought them out from the forest.
The operation was part of the ongoing “Operation Hadin Kai”s “Operation Desert Sanity III” aimed at decimating terrorist activities in the region.
