Imo, Zamfara elections: Supreme Court adjourns rulings on review applications

Chief Justice of Nigeria, Mohammed Tanko has adjourned until March 3, 2020, for ruling on the review of Imo State governorship case. Emeka Ihedioha and the People Democratic Party had sought a review of the Supreme Court judgment of January 14, 2020, which declared Senator Hope Uzodinma of the All Progressives Congress winner of the governorship election in Imo and sacking Emeka Ihedioha of the Peoples Democratic Party.
Counsel to Ihedioha, Kanu Agabi, asked the court on Monday for one day adjournment to enable him look into the process that had just been served. Chief Justice of Nigeria, Mohammed Tanko, who led a seven-man panel, granted the prayers and adjourned the matter until Tuesday.

Similarly, the Supreme Court has adjourned ruling until March 17, 2020 on the All Progressives Congress application seeking a review of the May 24, 2019 judgment, which nullified the victory of all the party’s candidates at the 2019 general elections in Zamfara State.
