Some civil society groups in Rivers State have carried out a targeted baseline study on Ogoni clean-up dissemination.

This was disclosed in a meeting organized by the Centre for Environment Human Rights and Development.

In a briefing at the end of the meeting in Port Harcourt, the Head of of the Centre’s Environment Unit, Doctor KABARI SAM highlighted some key points on the integrated baseline study on the clean-up exercise in Ogoni land.

Doctor SAM also insisted that the study found that women as vulnerable groups would bear more burden on the pollutions.

In separate contribution, some stakeholders at the event faulted the activities of Hydrocarbon Pollution Remediation Project, HYPREP, describing the operations of the supervisory agency as lacking transparency.
