Yobe Lawmaker Who Defeated Former Speaker, Majakura Joins APC

Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, welcomed Lawan Musa Majakura, the sole member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the State House of Assembly, who recently defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday.

This was revealed in a statement by Mamman Mohammed, the governor’s director of press and media affairs, in Damaturu.

Majakura cited the commendable efforts of the Buni-led administration in providing infrastructure to his constituency as his reason for leaving the PDP for the APC.

He expressed his willingness to collaborate with the governor in serving his constituency and improving the lives of his people.

The Speaker of the Yobe State House of Assembly, Chiroma Buba Mashio, praised Majakura’s commitment to representing the interests of his people in the assembly.

He also noted that Majakura’s defection to the APC will be advantageous for the party and the government of Yobe State.

It is worth noting that Lawan Musa Majakura caused a major political upset in the state by defeating the then Speaker of the House, Ahmed Lawan Mirwa, in the 2023 state assembly election
