10th NASS: APC Nominates Akpabio, Tajudeen For Senate President, House Speaker

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has nominated candidates for principal officers of the 10th National Assembly ahead of June Inauguration.

The party, in a statement signed by its publicity secretary, Felix Morka and released on Monday, explained that the APC has resolved to zone the Senate Presidency to the South-South by picking former Akwa Ibom State Governor, Senator Godswill Akpabio while Senator Barau Jubrin from Northwest is nominated for the position of the Deputy.

“The National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC), met today, Monday, May 8, 2023, to consider reports of consultations and meetings held with President-elect, His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, other party leaders and stakeholders on zoning for 10th National Assembly leadership positions.

“The NWC noted with respect the outcomes of the meetings held with the President-elect and NWC.”
