FCT Minister Appoints Candido, Former AMAC Chairman As Transport Secretary

The Minister of Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Mallam Muhammad Bello, has approved the appointment of former AMAC Chairman, Abdullahi Candido, as the new secretary for the transportation secretariat of the FCTA.

This was contained in a press release by the Chief Press Secretary to the minister, Anthony Ogunleye, on Wednesday in Abuja.

Abdullahi Candido is taking over from Zakari Dobi, who resigned from his position to contest for the FCT senatorial ticket under the platform of the APC, in the coming elections.

The statement said Farida Suleiman was appointed to replace Abu Ribadu as the Senior Special Assistant (Special Duties) to the FCT Minister. Mr. Ribadu resigned to contest election into the House of Representatives to represent AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency of the FCT.

The minister also appointed Hassan Danjuma, who has over 30 years of experience as an engineer, as the Chairman of the FCT Water Board, with Tauheed Amusan as the General Manager.

Tauheed Amusan, according to the statement, joined the FCTA in 1991 and was appointed the general manager of the FCT Water Board and Special Assistant (Technical) to the Minister of Resources in 2015.

Abubakar Maina was also appointed as the Group Managing Director of a subsidiary of the FCTA, the Abuja Investment Company Limited. Mr Maina holds a degree in Business Administration from the University of Maiduguri.

Mr Bello also confirmed the appointment of Zanna Hamza as the substantive Director of the FCT Treasury (DOT). He has been in an acting capacity since the retirement of his predecessor.

All appointments are to take immediate effect, the statement highlighted.
