Dembele Snubs Chelsea, PSG To Sign New Contract With Barcelona

Ousmane Dembele has said that staying at Barcelona was always his top priority after putting pen to paper on a new two-year deal at the club.

The winger signed a new contract with Barcelona on Thursday that will see him remain at Camp Nou until 2024.

Dembele who also won the World Cup with his National Team France had been linked with Chelsea and PSG this summer before he decided to sign a new deal with Barca.

According to the winger his decision to sign a new contract with Barcelona, the Catalan club has always been his first option, adding that he is happy at the club and eager to start the upcoming new season.

“I’m pleased with this renewal,” Dembele was quoted by Barcelona’s official website as saying.

“Barça was my dream club since I was little and I am looking forward to a new season and doing everything for this club. Barça was always my first option, and we are all happy and eager to start.”

Dembele added that, “Barça always has to be up there challenging for titles, and my dream is to win the Champions League. I will do everything, work hard for the boss on the pitch and hopefully, this will be a big year for me and Barça.”
