The much anticipated All Progressives Congress (APC), presidential primary election is finally here, as the stage is set for the commencement of programmes today.
The party earlier postponed and shifted the Special Convention to elect the flag bearer for the 2023 general elections for a week thereby given room for consultations amid speculation for a possible consensus candidate
Yesterday, the National Chairman of the party, Senator Abdullahi Adamu had announced the President of the Senate, Ahmed Lawal as consensus candidate of the party. A position rejected by the Northern APC Governors and the party’s governors.
In the early hours of today there wide speculation that governors under the auspices of APC had submitted five names to President Muhammadu Buhari for consideration. Among the names are Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, Yemi Osinbajo, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, John Kayode Fayemi and Governor Dave Umahi.
