Zapata Out For A Month With Knee Injury
Inter linked Atalanta striker Duvan Zapata has suffered a sprain in his right knee and will reportedly be out for a month according to Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset.
Zapata who has been linked in recent weeks with a move to Italian champions, Inter Milan might have to wait a bit longer due to the sprain he suffered to his right knee.
Sport Mediaset report that the Colombian’s club hope to have him available in time for September 12’s Serie A fixture against Fiorentina but that he is not expected to return before then.
Zapata has been identified as a major target throughout the Nerazzurri’s search for an attacking arrival following the departure of Romelu Lukaku, though it remains to be seen how this injury will affect their consideration of him.
The club could decisively move on from the Colombian should they feel that he is too much of an injury risk to be counted on in light of his current situation, though for now there is no indication that this is the case.
With less than two weeks left in the transfer window, however, Inter will know that they have to quickly evaluate the situation.
