Barcelona women’s team will be missing their Nigerian striker, Asisat Oshoala in training camp after she reportedly tests positive for the Coronavirus.

The Nigeria Women team’s skipper will not be joining the Fc Barcelona Femeni in the training camp at Algorfa as she was not among those selected due to her current medical situation.

Jonatan Giráldez, the new Barcelona coach, has taken twenty-three players to the training camp where they will remain for ten days. The twenty-three players consist of sixteen players from the first team and seven from the youth teams.

The European champions were silent on the whereabouts of their Nigerian star, only stating that the injured trio Ingrid Engen, Andrea Pereira and Cata Coll who were not included in the travelling party will join the team later.

It was however gathered that the four-time African Women’s Footballer of the Year did not authorize Barcelona to disclose her medical condition to the public.

After discovering the positive case on Monday in their first training session in pre-season, the Fc Barcelona Femeni ace has been isolating at home till she’s fully fit to join the squad in the coming friendlies.
