Nigerians with the intention of moving to China might have a tough time ahead of them as the Chinese government has announced the temporary suspension of nationals from Nigeria from entering its country .
The Chinese government said the ban extends to non-Chinese nationals in Nigeria holding visas or resident permits . In a statement by the Chinese consulate, the reasons given for this suspension is not far fetch from the novel covid-19 pandemic.
“Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic , China has decided to temporarily suspend entry into China by Non-Chinese nationals in Nigeria holding visas or residence permits still valid at the time of this announcement. The Chinese Embassy and Consulate In Nigeria is will no longer issue certified health Declaration form for the above mentioned personnel.
“The suspension is a temporary response necessitated by the current situation of COVID-19. The above mentioned measures will be assessed in accordance accordingly” the Chinese embassy and consulate in Nigeria stated .
