Former Majority Leader of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. Chidi Lloyd has officially dumped the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Hon. Chidi Lloyd was the Director-General of the Tonye Cole Campaign Organisation in the 2019 Rivers State Governorship election.

He was received by top Rivers PDP members led by Chief Sergeant Awuse and the chairman of Emohua Local Government Area, High Chief Tom Aliezi.

The governor of Rivers State, NyesomWike with his Chief of Staff, Engr. Emeka Woke and the PDP state chairman, Amb. Desmond Akawor also visited Hon. Lloyd in his home town Akpabu some weeks ago.

Speaking on the reason he dumped the APC for the PDP at Government House Port Harcourt.   Lloyd said: “Am leaving a party where there’s no reward for hard work, no matter your sacrifice, loyalty, and commitment, the leader doesn’t care.

“I cannot continue to work while those sitting at their comfort zone comes up to eat with juicy package.

People threatened to kill me on a daily basis, my family at risk and danger just for me to defend the leader, yet, no appreciation. I almost lost my life, almost commit what I daily pray against to defend a man whose interest is in himself and those he feels are more ok to him. Now that am leaving, let me see my replacement.

“I apologize to Magnus Abe and his die-hard supporters, I see reason with them why they stand on justice but unfortunately for them, they are fall from achieving, though I can’t conclude hence God holds the future.

“Please my esteem supporters, we have a stake as the ball keeps rolling. Am a politician, I know my time, I understand the game, so no one who is more a betrayer will call me a betrayer. Ask them why is APC dying while they claim to be a leader?

“I will reply whoever says he’s a leader while others who oppose him are betrayers. I will speak up soon but for now, know that am out of the mess” Hon. Dr. Chidi Lloyd said while addressing his supporters in his hometown Akpabu.”
