COVID-19: 22-year-old COVID-19 Patient Gives Birth to Twins in LUTH

There have been panics and all sorts of discomfort, but despite the presence of the pandemic, new babies still find their way to the world despite the high risk attached to their delivery by the infected expectant mothers.

Though this defines how miraculous God HIS and such situations occur most times to prove to us all that in every situation there are innumerable possibilities.

Just as a pregnant woman previously diagnosed with COVID-19 gave birth to a set of twins being the second set of twins delivered at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, LUTH during this COVID-19 period.

The delivery brings the total number of babies delivered at the LUTH isolation centre to five while their mother becomes the fourth patient with COVID-19.

The twins delivered through cesarean section weighed 3.2kg and 3.25kg.

The baby girl and boy, as well as their mother, are doing well. According to the Hospital’s Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee, CMAC, the babies were delivered Tuesday 19th May 2020.
