Nigeria can’t handle Coronavirus outbreak- Reps member

A member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Tajudeen Yusuf, has aggravated his fears over Nigeria’s ability to contain the Coronavirus, should the outbreak hit Nigeria intensely. Speaking during a show on Channels Television, the Member of Parliament representing Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency of Kogi State said the level of preparedness by the Federal Government was not encouraging.

Earlier, members of the House of Representatives placed a call to the federal government to halt all flights from UK, Spain, Italy, the USA, China and South Korea. The Rep members made the resolution on Tuesday while adopting a motion of urgent national importance by Hon. Onofiok Luke (Akwa-Ibom, PDP). They also resolved that Nigerian citizens who will be tested on arrival should be allowed in and may be quarantined if necessary.

Meanwhile, the minister of state for health, Olorunnimbe Mamora, has announced that Nigeria had no plans of restricting visitors of any national.
