Sanusi gets another appointment from Kaduna State Government

Dethroned Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, has been named the chancellor of Kaduna State University. This comes shortly after the former Emir was appointed into the board of Kaduna State Investment Promotion.

Announcing the new appointment, the spokesman to the Kaduna State Governor, Muyiwa Adekeye said the former Emir will contribute much to the Kaduna varsity from his wealth of knowledge. “On behalf of the government and people of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir El-Rufai is delighted to appoint His Highness, Muhammadu Sanusi II as the Chancellor of the Kaduna State University,” Muyiwa Adekeye said. Muyiwa Adekeye’s statement further said, “The Kaduna State Government has no doubt that as Chancellor, His Highness Muhammadu Sanusi, would provide symbolic and substantive leadership in raising the profile of KASU as an emerging centre of learning on the national and global level.”

Muhammadu Sanusi II was dethroned by the Kano State Government on Monday. According to the Secretary to the Kano State Government, Usman Alhaji, Sanusi was removed for his “disrespect to lawful instructions from the office of the governor and other lawful authorities.”
