FRSC to conduct free vehicle safety checks for Abuja residents

The Unit Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps FRSC will be conducting free vehicle safety checks within Wuse II, Maitama District, Asokoro, Garki I and II of the FCT, from March 4-7, 2020.
In a statement signed by the Assistant Corps Commander Mr. Chukwuma Owoechukwu, the exercise is to ensure that vehicles on Nigerian highways meets the minimum safety standard which is in line with the United Nations standards for safer vehicles and mobility. Mr. Owoechukwu also said focus will be on windshields, tyres, rear view mirrors, and lighting systems. Other areas are spare tyre, jacks and wheel spanners, fire extinguisher, breakdown signs and water gage among other things.
Mr. Owoechukwu further called on drivers and car owners within the operational jurisdiction of the command to avail themselves and benefit from the programme as it is for their good and the public.
