President Muhammadu Buhari’s chief of staff, Abba Kyari, and the National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno, on Wednesday, attended the Federal Executive Committee meeting in Abuja. The duo was pictured conversing in a jovial mood after the meeting.
Few weeks ago, a startling revelation by Monguno in a leaked memo accusing Abba Kyari of sidestepping the president’s directive to impose his own decision for implementation and meddling in matters of National security, had aroused speculations of a war of tug between the two aides of the President.
Monguno absence at last week’s FEC meeting and also at the meeting between the President and Service chiefs on Monday, had further fueled the speculations. While the Presidency was not vocal on the development, a source close to the Presidency had remarked that the President had asked the two parties to get their misunderstandings settled.
