Ukraine President rejects Prime Minister’s resignation

Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky has rejected the resignation of the his Prime Minister, Oleksiy Honcharuk, following the release of an audio Tape in which Honcharuk appeared to made disparaging comments about the President’s understanding of economics. In the video, the speaker was heard saying “There used to be good business managers, under whom the [economic growth] was 4.6%. Then Sorosites came, and the economic growth is 2% and less. And you cannot prove anything to anyone.”

Following the release of the tape, Mr. Honcharuk said that video was doctored but tendered a letter of resignation, which he said was an expression of his respect for the President.

In a meeting where the President rejected Honcharuk’s resignation, the President said he was giving him a second chance.
