35 people have been killed in a stampede which ensued during the funeral ceremony of Iranian Qud forces commander, Qassem Soleimani, who was killed in a U.S. drone strike, while stepping out of an airport in Bagdad, Iraq.

The funeral which took place in the southeastern city of Kerman attracted thousands of mourners from across Iran and Iraq. Head of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, General Hossein Salami told the crowd who chanted “Death to America” of Iran’s intentions of a revenge against the United States.

“We will take revenge, a hard and definitive revenge,” General Salami said.
Speaking on a planned revenge, Iranian Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, Ali Shamkhani, said 13 “revenge scenarios” were being considered, and according to him, even the weakest option would prove “a historic nightmare for the Americans.”
