Armed men attack Jonathan’s home in Otuoke, kill one soldier

Unknown armed gunmen in the early hours of Tuesday attacked the home of former President Goodluck Jonathan in Otuoke, Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa state

A source in Otuoke, who pleaded anonymity, said the gunmen, who struck at about 3 am, killed one soldier and injured another.

The armed men were said to have entered through the river linking Otuoke Community and Otuaba Community, before attacking the gunboat that was stationed there.

Consequently, all roads leading to Otuoke and Otuaba are currently blocked by military personnel, with the movement of residents restricted.

When contacted, the Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, 16 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Maj. Jonah Danjuma said he will issue a statement as soon as he gets more details.

On his own part, the Bayelsa Police Command Spokesman, SP Asinim Butswat, said he does not want to talk about the military affair.
