LAGOS STATE GOVERNMENT SEALS QUILOX CLUB
The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency has sealed the popular Quilox Club, Victoria Island over Noise Pollution and Traffic Congestion.
The announcement was made by the SA to the Lagos State Governor on New Media, Jubril Gawat, shortly after the club held a 36-hour party
Quilox which was opened in 2013 is one of the Biggest and most expensive clubs in Nigeria and is owned by House of Representatives member, Shina Peller.
The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) had announced that it will intensify actions to curb the menace of pollution in the state. The General Manager of LASEPA, Dr Dolapo Fasawe made the announcement on the 21 September, 2019 at the International Coastal Cleanup Day celebration in Lagos. In her words, “As an enforcement agency, we have fines, we have laws against pollution that are punishable by court sentence. “We have mobile courts which educate offenders and we give them opportunity to clean up the mess they have created.
”And then if that doesn’t work, the law takes due course, but then ignorance of the law is not an excuse.
“As government, our role is to continue to share the message, so that ignorance will not be an excuse”.
