Petitions: Permanent Secretary, Director failed to document, engage and deploy plans- Senator Patrick
Senator Patrick Ayo Akinyelure, who is representing Ondo Central and a member of the Senate Committee on Ethics and Privileges on Wednesday, 10th June 2020 read some petitions from various individuals and organizations.
According to the petitions written by Professor D. Mbakwe and Alhaji Balarebe Ibrahim, they claimed that the Permanent Secretary, Director of Human Resources and Administration Operators FDAs of the Federation deliberately failed to document, engage and deploy a qualified plan to their various FDAs by the Federal Civil Service Commission over the years of 2016 to 2019. Thus leading to fraud and gross mismanagement of appropriated funds annually, over the years and calls for the senate’s investigation.
Another petition from Tolu Babloyo was written against the managing director of Zenith Bank Plc and other top management of the bank on behalf of the concerned citizens of Ondo State.
Mr Tolu wrote the petition to investigate the deliberate conniving by the bank management and some syndicate in the Ondo State government for fraudulent concealment of over N4billion naira investment in funds placement in fixed deposit plus accrued interest for successful administration in Ondo State kept in an account number 01031126205 for over 10yrs belonging to the Ondo State Government in an account domiciled with Zenith Bank Plc in Alagbaka, Akure, Ondo State.
Ayo Akin further read another petition from Falana Falana Chambers on behalf of Navy Officer, Lt. Commander Earnest Akinbadejo Adeoti, NS/1256 against the Chief of Naval Staff, who requested an investigation into the retiring and the dismissal of Lt. Commander Earnest Akinbadejo from the Nigerian Navy.
Alhaji Ibrahim Danbaba J.T also wrote a petition against the Comptroller General of Nigerian Correctional Service for illegally extending his time of service beyond the statutory period of 16 years allowed under the laws of The Federal Republic of Nigeria and gross mismanagement of public funds of several billions of naira, from 2016 to 2019, by the comptroller general.
Another petition from Rev. Captain Adebayo Olatunji Okunoye against the Chief of Army Staff of Nigeria Army, a passionate appeal to merge his service and approve his placement into the Military Pension Scheme.
A petition from one Mr Aliru Ango Magaji against the Registrar of Ahmadu Bello University and Federal College of Education both in Zaria, an appeal for senate intervention to ensure compliance for his reinstatement by the provost of Federal College of Education Zaria, or the implementation of resolution risk at the conclusion of the mediation process by the Honourable Attorney General, of the Federation and Minister of Justice, was also read by the senator.
The Senator also made known to the senate in the red chamber a petition from NCO Okoli of Suleiman NY and Associate versus Action Against Hunger an NGO for termination of employment and asking for compensation for injuries sustained in the of heresy out of employment in respect of one Mr Daniel Machela.
Also a petition against FCDA by Senator Bodeola of CornerStone Montgomery School complaining against FCDA who wants to secretly and illegal attempt to grab his green area of plot No. E27/3270 in Apo Resettlement by Urban and Regional Planning Department of the Federal Capital Development Authority.
And he finally read a petition from Mr Bibitayo Ajise and two others of Joint Research and Ally Institution Sector Union against the Honourable Minister of Education for an appeal to follow due process in the appointment of National Institute of Educational Planning, Administration Director/Director General/Chief Executive positioned by the Honourable Minister of Education.
The Senate President asked if the petitioners were seeking to use judicial means to settle the case, but he said no.
