Port Harcourt serial killer enters a new phase

The Second Defendant in the Port Harcourt Serial Killer case at a Rivers State High Court, Nimi Thankgod, on Monday opened her defence.

Recall that main suspect, Gracious David-West had denied disposing dead body of any lady killed in a hotel on Bendel Street in Old Port Harcourt Township area.

Our correspondent reports that Thankgod is facing trial for allegedly wrapping the corpse with a bag and dumping it on the road after the victim was supposedly murdered by David-West in the hotel.

Nimi told the court that she gave out a room in the hotel she was managing to David-West on 18th of September, 2019, and stressed that no female was killed in their hotel.

She further informed the court that David-West used a bedsheet to tie the lady identified as Benita Etiem, who later survived the attack, stressing that the director gave supposedly Benita 5,000 naira to report the case to the police.

In the meantime, trial judge, Justice Adolphus Enebeli who after declining to grant a no-case submission filed by the counsel to the second defendant, adjourned the matter to Wednesday 10th of June for continuation of defence.
