NIMC Enrolls 59,786 Inmates, Prepares for Ward-Level Rollouts

The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has successfully enrolled and issued National Identification Numbers (NINs) to 59,786 inmates across Nigerian correctional centers in collaboration with the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS).
Kayode Adegoke (Ph.D), the Head, Corporate Communications Unit of NIMC disclosed this in a press statement made available to newsmen in Abuja on Tuesday.
He informed that the initiative, which has enrolled 74% of inmates so far, aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda to ensure inclusivity and identity for all Nigerians and legal residents.
Adegoke mentioned that the Commission is also set to commence ward-level enrollment nationwide, aiming to work with strategic partners to issue NINs to all Nigerians and legal residents, ensuring no one is left out.
NIMC therefore expressed gratitude to the Minister of Interior, the Comptroller-General, and the NCoS management and staff for their support.
