Nigerian Army School Of Supply And Transport Gets Its 21st Commandant

The 21st Commandant of the Nigerian Army School of Supply and Transport (NASST) has resumed command. He is Brigadier General ND Shagaya. He takes over from Major General UT Otaru who has been redeployed to Army Headquarters and appointed as Deputy Chief of Policy and Plans and Director of Staff Duties.

During the handing and taking over ceremony which took place on Monday, 10 July 2023 at the NASST Isihor Barracks, the Commandant Brigadier General Shagaya extols the commitment and accomplishments of his predecessor for nurturing the School to a greater height.

The Commandant who acknowledges the challenges synonymous with his office, assured that he was fully prepared and ready to hit the ground running to achieve the set goals establishing the school.

He promises to operate an open-door policy and bring to bear all the experience garnered over the years, reiterating his resolve to enhance the synergy with various stakeholders and neighbouring communities for the development of the institution.

Brig Gen Shagaya further thanks the Chief of Army Staff, Major General TA Lagbaja for finding him worthy of the appointment as the Acting Commandant of the School and promised to work tirelessly in achieving his new task in line with Army Headquarters (AHQ) and Headquarters Nigerian Army Corp of Supply and Transport’s (HQ NACST) training directives.

He urges the instructors to be proactive and more professional while discharging their duties diligently and efficiently

Earlier in his remarks, the outgone Commandant Major General Otaru lauds the commitment and effort of officers, soldiers and instructors during his tour of duty and urged them to accord the same cooperation and support to his successor.

General Otaru congratulates the new Commandant and wishes him a successful tour of duty.
