NPA, Nigerian Navy Synergizing For Increased Port Security
The Managing Director, Mohammed Bello Koko, today received the Flag Officer Commanding (FOC) Western Naval Command, Rear Admiral JD Akpan, and Fleet Commander West, Rear Admiral AO Olodude, at the Authority’s Headquarters, Marina.
The meeting focused on generating fresh ideas to sustain the gains the Lagos Pilotage District has reaped from the nationwide collaborative arrangements between the Authority and the Nigerian Navy.
It will be recalled that in addition to the acquisition and deployment of security patrol boats, the Authority has deployed its partnership with the Navy to improve channel security in the eastern ports, which has resulted in increased cargo traffic in Onne, Calabar, and Warri ports.
