River’s community boils, seek Wike’s intervention
Some homeless inhabitants of Asarama Town in Andoni Local Government Area of Rivers State have cried out to Governor NYESOM WIKE to come to their aid after their homes were sacked following a two-day military raid.
The Community made this appeal through the Community Development Committee Chairman Elder MARK ANIMISA during an interview where he counted their loses during the raid.
ANIMISA who was represented by the Assistant Secretary of the community, NJENYISI LEMUEL called on the governor to intervene early as the people had been displaced.
The Asarama Community Chairman equally expressed displeasure with the role of the Andoni Local Government Council Chairman, PAUL LAWRENCE PAUL whom he accused of exploiting the window of the joint-military raid to perpetrate evil on the community.
The community leader also wondered why similar raid was not carried out in other Andoni Communities that had presence of cultist kingpins who are who inflicting pains on the Andoni people and pleaded to know why Asarama was allegedly singled out in the operations.
Recall that in the past two days Asarama and Unyeada Communities have been in turmoil as scores of security operatives stormed the area in the early hours of Friday and allegedly shot sporadically in search of gang leaders suspected to be behind the atrocities going on in the area.
In November last year, two policemen and their boat driver were kidnapped at the Asarama-Ebukuma bridge and release after about 2 months in captivity as well as several others raped, molested and killed for unknown reasons.
