Lagos-Ibadan Railway: Amaechi unhappy with pace of work, CCECC promises to meet deadline
The Honorable Minister for Transportation, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi has told CCECC handling the Lagos-Ibadan Railway project that he is not satisfied with the pace of work on the Railway.
The honourable Minister who is inspecting the rail project alongside the Chairman of CCECC group wrote on twitter: “Today, we are inspecting the Lagos-Ibadan rail line again, with emphasis on the Apapa Port axis. This time with the Chairman of CCECC Group, Zhao Dianlong & the MD, CCECC Nigeria, Jiang Yi Gao. I told them I am unhappy with the pace of work & it’s imperative they meet set targets.”
“They’ve told us that the rail line up to Apapa would be completed by April, June for the minor stations and August for the major stations. We however hope that they’ll speed up the work and finish earlier, so we can move on to Ibadan-Kano rail line.” Amaechi, said.
Responding on behalf of the Contractors, the Managing Director of CCECC, Jiang Yi Gao has assured the Honourable Minister that the dateline will still be met.
