Rivers State University gets Emir of Lafia as VC.
The Emir of Lafia and Chairman, Nasarawa State Council of Chiefs, Justice Didi Bage Muhammad, is to be installed as the fourth chancellor of the Rivers State University, Nkpolu-Oroworukwo.
The installation, which will be done by Governor Nyesom Wike, is part of ceremonies lined up to celebrate the university’s 40th anniversary and 32nd convocation.
Addressing reporters on Monday at a news conference at the Senate building to mark the celebration of the university, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Nlerum Okogbule, said the school would graduate 5,837 students.
He noted that the convocation would witness the award of Higher and Bachelor’s Degree and Post Graduate Diploma to students.
According to him, the school will graduate 34 first class students for Bachelor’s Degree, 684 second class upper division, 2,034 second class lower division, 578 third class and 103 pass.
