Police Parade 31 Suspects For Armed Robbery, Car Snatching

Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force in Abuja have arrested and paraded 31 suspects for various crimes like armed robbery, kidnapping, car snatching among others.

Parading the suspects in Abuja, the Commissioner of Police, FCT, CP Bala Ciroma said “Following a coordinated stop and search operation, on 15th November, 2020, Police detectives from Bwari division arrested one Abbas Ibrahim, 32 years; John Aefa, 36 years; John Ofo, 35 years; Jerry Bulus, 32 years; Uzochukwu Micheal, 34 years; Abdulrahman Suleiman, 42 years and Stanley Okeke, 34 years all male at Sabon-Gari along Bwari axis.”

The suspects are part of the 31 paraded.

The Commissioner noted that the notorious seven-man syndicate was arrested by eagle-eyed Police operatives after dispossessing their victim of his vehicle at gunpoint and attempting to escape, unknown to them that the vehicle had a tracking device installed.

He also stated that the suspects also confessed to being responsible for car theft and several atrocities perpetrated along that axis.

Exhibits recovered are: One light blue unregistered Toyota Matrix, three locally made pistols, four live catridges, nine mobile phones and six ATM cards of different banks.

The commissioner also revealed that on 16th November, 2020 acting on tip off Police detectives from the Command’s Anti-Car Theft Unit arrested one Siraju Ibrahim, 38 years, a member of a two-man gang in Zamfara for car snatching and theft.

The suspect confessed that his gang specializes in monitoring their unsuspecting victims before carrying out their mission along Abuja -Kaduna axis.

He said concerted effort is being made to apprehend one Abdullahi, still at large.

Exhibits recovered: one silver colour Toyota Matrix-ABC-584PA and one ash colour Toyota Camry.

In another development, on 19th November, 2020 Police detectives Command’s Anti-Car Theft Unit arrested one Farouk Umar at Kaduna for stealing the vehicle of his employer.

He stated that he intending to use the commercial purposes before he was arrested by the eagle-eyed operatives.

Exhibit recovered: one Toyota Prado reg no. DD117ABC.

The Commissioner explained that the suspects will be arraigned in court upon conclusion of investigation.
