I don’t care about the trial in the Senate- Trump
U.S. Republican president, Donald Trump has said he is not bothered by the impeachment trial in the senate. Addressing reporters at the Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida on Tuesday, the U.S President said: “I don’t really care. It doesn’t matter. As far as I’m concerned I’d be very happy with a trial because we did nothing wrong.”
The U.S. President was impeached after the House of Representatives found that he had solicited foreign interference for his 2020 re-election bid, obstructed the inquiry itself by telling his administration officials to ignore request for documents and testimony, and withholding military aid from Ukraine and an invitation to the White House to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, in order to influence Ukraine to announce an investigation of Trump’s political rival, Joe Biden, and to promote a conspiracy theory that Ukraine, not Russia, was behind interference in the 2016 presidential election.
The U.S. senate is expected to begin trial of the impeachment article in January 2020.
