Attack: IGP Visits Adamawa Police Command, Commends the Resilience of Personnel
The Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun has commended the Adamawa State Police Command for exercising restraint and professionalism in handling the recent clash between police and military officers in Adamawa State.
The conflict which erupted in the recent days between Military and Police Personnel resulted in the invasion of the State Police Command by military officers, an action widely condemned within and outside security and Government circles.
Egbetokun who earlier paid a courtesy call on the Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri at the Government House, Yola as part of his working visit also expressed satisfaction on the Swift response of the Governor in handling the situation.
He appreciates Governor Fintiri for the support being rendered to the Police in carrying out security operations in the state in addition to commending him for providing dividends of democracry to the people.
He described the clash which led to the killing of one Police Officer as unfortunate, assuring that the situation is being investigated and justice will he done at the end of the investigation.
The IGP assured of adequate support to the Police Command in Adamawa and the State Government to maintaining security and peace to enable the Fintiri led administration perform more better to the people.
Governor Fintiri while commending IGP Egbetokun for bringing changes in the Nigerian Police Force, also praised him for improving the welfare of the personnel, saying the country has gotten the right man in the right place.
Governor Fintiri appealed for the establishment of Police Mobile Training Collegel in Mbamba Yola as part of the commitment to boost security of lives and property in Adamawa and Nigeria.

He noted with concern the recent clash between Police and Military officers in Yola, and assured that as the Chief Security Officer of the State, such incident will never repeat itself.
The Governor appreciated the visit by the IGP, and assured his administration’s commitment to continue to support the Nigerian Police and all other security agencies for improved security in the state.
