200 Level Female Student of Uniport Found Dead In Her Apartment

A 200 -level female Accounting student of the University of Port Harcourt, UNIPORT, simply identified as Adaeze has been found dead in her off campus apartment in Aluu Community of Ikwerre local Government Area of the state capital.

The students was found dead on Friday November 3 when the door to her apartment was forced open with bottle of popular insecticide, sniper lying beside her corpse.

Confirming the incident, the Dean of Students Affairs UNIPORT, Professor Chima Wokocha identified of the deceased as Adaeze.

Wokocha said when the University management, the parents and the Police visited the apartment, a bottle of sniper was found beside the remains of the girl.

“She did not die in the University, she died in her apartment. The body has been deposited at the Lulu Briggs Hospital. The parents are making arrangements to remove her body.”

Rivers State Police Command has not reacted to the incident, despite the fact that its operatives were among the team that visit the scene.

The death of the student occurred barely nine days after one Demian Okoligwe, a student of Engineering at UNIPORT killed his girlfriend, Justina Otuene, also a Bio-Chemistry student of the university.

It would be recalled that on April 30, 2019, the dead body of a 100 Level female Chemical Engineering Student of the UNIPORT was discovered by her course mates in her off campus room at Aluu.

After the door of her apartment was forced open, she was seen with a can of sniper on the floor with dry blood on her face. Other occupants of the lodge occupants said they saw her the previous day.

She was said to be suffering from depression.

Also, in November 26,2019, friends and family of one Prince Digbani, a 500 – level student of Electrical and Electronics Department of UNIPORT were in shocked when he killed himself by gulping pesticide suspected to be Sniper.

The final year student who had won two bronze medals for creativity and innovation in Project design was described by his friends as very brilliant.

But they noticed that before his death, he was withdrawn and refused to confide in his friends about his problems.

According to some his friends, Digbani had left them at school for his off-campus apartment and by 3:51 pm on Monday and later, started updating his WhatsApp status with some cryptic posts.

His co-tenants also said they later heard a scream from his rooms and when they broke the door and rushed in, they found him convulsing on the floor.

The neighbours said they gave him palm oil to drink after they found out he had taken a poisonous liquid as he was pointing to what he had consumed.
