Support Tinubu Led Government To Boost Our Humanitarian Plans – Betta Edu Urges Greece Envoy To Nigeria

In her continuous efforts to coordinate, strengthen and promote social service systems in Nigeria by integrating best practices, mechanisms and solutions, the honourable Minister of Humanitarian affairs and poverty alleviation Dr Betta Edu has received the Greece Envoy to Nigeria.

The Delegation was led by Ioannis Plotas, the Greece Ambassador to Nigeria, who has expressed his country`s readiness to support the Federal Government in its efforts to lift Nigerians out of poverty.

The envoy said his visit was to strengthen cooperation between Nigeria and Greece, supporting the Honourable Minister with her humanitarian responses. And also to explore the possibilities of further cooperation on the domain of humanitarian affairs.

While commending the long standing relationship that exists between the two countries, the honorable minister expressed determination to build on it and ensure that Nigerians will benefit from their support.

She said the ministry will ensure a robust and sustainable poverty alleviation programmes, especially with the Federal government social safety net projects, which is structured to capture the vulnerable groups, be gender sensitive and help Nigeria reduce poverty.

The envoy assured the determination of the Greek government to provide the needed support.
