Anchor University To Provide Nigeria Researchers, Leaders With Integrity, Says Pastor Kumuyi

Founder and Chancellor of Anchor University, Ayobo, Lagos, Pastor Williams Kumuyi, has said the institution is producing future leaders with integrity and researchers with global relevance for the country.

Speaking at the university’s 2nd and 3rd convocation ceremonies and awards, Kumuyi, charged the graduands to grow up like cornerstones after their graduation, able to showcase the vision of the university and in the fear of God, abiding by the training they have received during their stay in the institution.

He noted that the university was established as a citadel of learning for holistic human transformation and development.

The founder restated that the core values of the university are holiness, transparency, courage, ability and resourcefulness, which they should project everywhere they go.

Kumuyi, who noted that character without competence is incomplete, said both would help them to achieve a lot in their lives.

He urged the graduands to be good ambassadors of the school and the organisation that settle up the education centre.

The university graduated 228 students for the 2020/2021 and 2022 sessions.

The best graduating student with a 4.00/4.00 grade, from the Economics department, Eja Iwasam Egbe, at the convocation supported the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) currency redesign and cash withdrawal limits, saying the policy will improve the economy.

Egbe advised that Nigerians should give the policy a chance as it serves as corrective measures that would help rescue the nation’s struggling economy.
She commended the university for creating an enabling environment of learning which contributed to her academy’s excellence.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Samuel Bandele, noted that in terms of natural, physical infrastructural, material, human and spiritual resources, the school stands tall among any private universities in Nigeria and even globally, though they are still young .
