Modern Technology, Infrastructure Needed in Power Sector Development, Says FG
The Federal Government has identified an enabling policy which is targeted at modern-day technology and infrastructural development as tools to drive the needed growth in the country’s power sector.
The minister of power, Engr. Abubakar D. Aliyu made this disclosure at the Nigeria Energy Conference held in Lagos.
The Minister who was represented by the permanent secretary, of the ministry of power, Temitope Fashedemi, said that an enabling policy targeted at infrastructure development, innovative financing options and investment in modern energy is required.
He said “I strongly believe that the answer to achieving this is through available collaborations captured in our energy policies”.
He insisted that such collaboration with the private sector and development partners is vital toward sustainable energy supply.
He added that the present administration being led by his Excellency president Mohammadu Buhari is fully focused on achieving an investment-friendly environment for the private sector towards the provision of energy access.

He told stakeholders about the vision 30-30-30 which is targeted at achieving 30 gigawatts of electricity by 2030, from multiple energy sources, with at least 30% contribution from renewable energy sources.
“The FG is champion the establishment of an affordable, reliable and sustainable energy the timing population”.He added.
