Ramadan: Church Supports Less- Privileged Muslims

Church of Christ Evangelical Intercessory and Life Intervention Ministry, located at Sabon Tasha, kaduna state north western Nigeria has on Friday, extended her love to Muslims in the communities by doling out bags of grains of food, praying materials, as they prepare for holy Ramadan fast.

Stressing that, every years the church shares grains and other food items to over 500 poor muslims residing in many communities to promote peace, unity, tolerance, love and better understanding among faith based organizations in the state.

The General Overseer of the church who led the delegation from his congregation went out to Kano road mosque on friday morning in order to donate food items to the poor Muslims which include street beggars, and less privileged, widows .

Pastor Yohanna Buru said, they have commenced the distribution of foodstuffs to some Muslims to enable them have enough food during the 30-day fasting period, in order to pray to the almighty God to bring an end the rising insecurity challenges. of banditry attacks , kidnapping,and the Covid 19 pandemic,

Adding that, all hands must be on deck to support a united nation, bring an end to Russian and Ukraine crisis.

“We must remember that we are one family under God, worshipping one God, and we are from the family of Adam and Eve, therefore we must join hands to support each other in whatever condition,”.

According to him “This is the 6th time the church is sharing bags of grains and other foodstuffs to large numbers of street beggars, internally displaced person, children in orphanages and poor muslims in the community”.

This Year’s Ramadan season comes amidst increase of insecurity challenges, high cost of foodstuffs, general scarcity of petroleum products and other cooking stuffs such as firewood and charcoal in the 19 northern states of the region.

“we do this every year to our Muslims Brothers in kaduna and some parts of the northern region with the aims of strengthening our relationship ,boosting peaceful co-existance ,better understanding and religious tolerance among different faiths based organizations ,so as to live in peace and harmony with everyone irrespective of his tribe, culture, ethnic,race , color and region”

“it is also our joy to see that they use the 30 days of the Holy Ramadan to pray to Almighty God toward bring an end to the daily rising insecurity challenges bedeviling peace and stability in the entire 19 northern states”

It was reported that the Church had distributed grains of foodstuffs, praying materials to over 500 hundreds of less-privileged, destitutes and poor Muslims, which include widows while urging them to also use the Ramadan period to pray to God to end all the criminal activities affecting the region.

“Our target this year is to reach-out to over 500, if we can and that is why we are calling on other wealthy individual across the state to support the poor”

The cleric further called on wealthy Muslims to equally remember the less-privileged, the poor, the IDPs and widows in the society, so that they can participate fully in the 30 days of Ramadan fasting with ease.

While congratulating Muslims on the arrival of the Holy month of Ramadan, he urged Imams and Ulamas to intensify prayers for peace and unity of the country.

He ended by calling on Muslims Imams and scholars across the 36 states of the country to embark on ceaseless prayers, for God to save the universe against all the crises affecting the world.
