NAMA: Akinkuotu Bows Out, Pwajok Takes Over As Acting MD

The Federal government has approved the appointment of Matthew Pwajok as the acting Managing director of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA).

Pwajok was directed to take over as Capt. Fola Akinkuotu completed his five-year tenure as the Managing Director the Agency.

The appointment of Pwajok was conveyed in a letter from the Federal Ministry of Aviation marked FMA/ PS/ APPT/CEO/014/1/23 and addressed to the managing director/CEO of NAMA.

The Director, Human Resources, FMA, S. D. Muhammad, signed the letter on behalf of the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika.

The letter read in part, “I am directed to inform you that the minister has approved that Mr. Pwajok, Mathew Lawrence, Director of Operations, to oversee the office of the Managing Director/CEO pending the appointment of a substantive MD/CEO.”

The minister said in the letter that Pwajok should be accorded the all the necessary support and cooperation he needs while overseeing the office.

In a similar development, Sirika also approved the appointment and deployment of directors and special assistants to his office, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, NAMA, and the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority.

The appointments and deployments were contained in a letter dated January 12, 2022, which was addressed to the chief executives of NCAA, NAMA and FAAN, with reference FMA/PS/APPT/CEO/014/1/21
