FG donates N855 million for unconditional cash Project in Lagos State

The Federal Government has donated Eight Hundred and Eighty-Five million Naira for the unconditional cash for work Project in Lagos State. The project is a partnership initiative involving the Federal ministry of humanitarian affairs, disaster management and social development, United Nations Development Programme and the European Union.

Speaking at the event held in Lagos, the Senior Special Assistant to the President of Nigeria on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Adejoke O-Adefulire, thanked UNDP, EU and other donor agencies for the support given toward the project. Adejoke said, “I would like to thank the leadership of the UNDP for their continued support to our National development priorities. UNDP is indeed a reliable partner and we look forward to sustaining this in this Decade of Action for the Sustainable Development Goals.”

“As we formally launch this strategic support for Lagos State & Nigeria, let me equally thank our development partners, European Union and other donors for making this possible.We cannot thank you enough for the ongoing solidarity following COVID-19 outbreak and the lockdown measures”, she added.
