TRACE Spokesman, Babatunde Akinbiyi confirmed that 55 of the road
crashes involved cars, buses and trucks, adding that 11 other crashes
involved motorcycles. Meanwhile, 12 persons died in the accident involving motorcycles, while the remaining two died in those involving vehicles.
According to Akinbiyi, seven of those who died in the crashes were
men, while the remaining seven were females.
He informed further that a total of 109 persons sustained injuries in
the road crashes, adding that 38 of them were women and 71 were men.
The Ogun traffic agency, in its advice, enjoined motorists to obey all
traffic rules, especially in the ‘Ember’ months.
TRACE charged all drivers to respect the rights of other road users,
while reminding them that only safety can take them to their
destinations.
