COVID-19 test must be conducted on teachers before reopening schools-South-East Governors
As agitation for reopening schools across the country continues, South-East Governors Forum, after their meeting, has made it mandatory for all teachers to undergo COVID-19 tests before schools in the region can be reopened.
The Chairman of the forum, who is also the governor of Ebonyi state, Mr. Dave Umahi revealed this yesterday at a media briefing.
Umahi however, asserted that the major challenge and fear remained on the kindergarten and primary school pupils who do not really understand what social distancing means.
Speaking on the infrastructure, he revealed that the forum would do something about it to support Nigeria Cente for Disease Control, NCDC guidelines ahead of the federal government’s decision on re-opening.
According to him, “How many of our schools have running water and how many sanitisers have been provided for them?”
“We will then review our position and tell our people the safest time to re-open schools with our health workers to enforce the NCDC protocols,” Umahi added.
