Nigeria has recorded 87 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 1182.
According to figures released by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, yesterday night, 33 of the new cases were in Lagos, 18 in Borno, 12 in Osun, 9 in Katsina , and 4 each in Kano and Ekiti States.
Three fresh cases each were recorded in Edo and Bauchi States, while Imo State recorded its index case.
The NCDC also noted that 222 persons had been discharged, while 35 deaths had been reported from the virus.
However, Kano State Government has declared that the state has recorded 74 fresh cases of the coronavirus.
The State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, made the declaration in a news conference in the state capital.
In the meantime, there are growing fears over reportedly mysterious deaths in the state.
Though the state government says they are investigating the development, sources claim some 600 persons have died from an unknown illness in the last one week.
