Court fixes date for ruling on murder of 8-year-old girl in Port Harcourt

A Rivers State High Court sitting in Port Harcourt on Thursday fixed 30th of April to rule on the case of IFEANYI DIKE who allegedly murdered his eight-year-old niece, CHIKAMSO VICTORY.
The presiding judge, Justice ADOLPHUS ENEBELI adjourned the matter after adoption of written addresses by counsels.
Recall that the three suspects are IFEANYI DIKE, first defendant; UGOCHUKWU WAMIRO, 2nd defendant; and sacked police Sergeant JOHNBOSCO OKOROEZE, the third defendant, who allegedly aided the escape of DIKE.
Meanwhile, State Prosecuting Counsel, CHIDI EKEH, who spoke to journalists outside the courtroom, prayed the court to find the case in their favour.
Counsel to the 1st defendant, LEZINA AMEGUO, said justice should be served to all parties involved in the case.
In a remark, counsel to the 3rd defendant, CHIKWELE BEKWE, said his hopeful that his client will be discharged since hand-copping a suspect during interrogation is not lawful.
