There was no gun attack on our railway- Rail Agency MD

The Management of the Nigeria Railway Corporation, has falsified Stories of an attack on an Abuja bound train by suspected armed men. According to the story being circulated by Vanguard and DesertHerald online platforms, the train had left Rigasa station in Kaduna around 10 am and was attacked few kilometers from Abuja.

The Managing Director of the Agency, Engr. Fidet Okhiria on Thursday refuted the story in a telephone call, claiming the report is only a snippet of the writer’s imagination. According to him, the government and the Railway Agency has always endeavored to ensure the security of train users. He further urged Railway users and commuters to discard news of the attack.

When our reporter reached out to Mr. Michael Omario, who was onboard the said train in the Morning, and is waiting to return to Kaduna this evening via train, he equally refuted the story, claiming that nothing of such took place.

Confirming the statement by the the Management of the Nigeria Railway Corporation, a police escort who was on duty on board the train, said a stone thrown by some boys along the road landed on a glass Window of coach SP4 of the train.
