Farewell Inter Milan: Christian Eriksen visits Inter Milan To Bid Teammates Goodbye
This is as his time at Inter Milan is set to come to an end with the player and club reportedly agreeing to terminate his contract. The 29-year-old suffered a cardiac arrest in a Euro 2020 match between Denmark and Finland in June. He is said to received treatment on the pitch before being taken to hospital, where he was fitted with an ICD (Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator). The device monitors his heart rhythm and can also send shocks to the heart if necessary.
The Italian FA had announced he would only be allowed to return to Serie A action if he was deemed fit enough to play. Officials said his fitness must not involve a reliance on the ICD heart-starter
The playmaker only returned to training this month at one of his former clubs. But without the ICD removed he will not be eligible to play in Serie A under rules laid out by the Italian Olympic Committee, which governs sport in the country and as rules to abide with.
