OsunDecides: I’m confident of victory, Says Oyetola
Governor Gboyega Oyetola of Osun State and candidate of the All Progressives Congress, on Saturday, said he was confident of victory in the ongoing governorship election in the state.
According to Punch, he said this after voting at his Ward 1, Unit 2, LA Primary School, Iragbiji. The incumbent governor was flanked by his wife, Kafayat.
Oyetola arrived with his wife around 10:30 am to exercise his franchise.
He also complained about the slow voting process, which he said, was responsible for the queue recorded at polling units.
He expressed confidence that he would be reelected but called for the deployment of more machines to ensure that all voters cast their vote within the scheduled time.
He said the time frame for voting may not be enough with the enthusiasm shown by the voters.
He said, “Considering the time frame we have for voting, they need to speed up or increase the number of machines so as to ensure that the process is completed within the time frame.
“The security agents are doing well. Seeing the enthusiasm that voters have displayed to cast their votes, I’m particularly very grateful to them and that shows that people are conscious of the need to participate in the process.

“Once the process is transparent enough, people will not be persuaded to vote, there will be no voters apathy. I am confident that I will be reelected by the grace of Almighty God.”
However, he commended the Independent National Electoral Commission for a “good job”.
No fewer than 1,463,470 eligible voters are expected to vote and decide their new governor at the ongoing governorship election
Aside from Oyetola, other candidates up for election include the Peoples Democratic Party Candidate, Ademola Adeleke, Labour Party candidate, Yusuf Lasun, and Social Democratic Party candidate, Segun Awojide, among others
